I've been given a 4" computer fan (2.2A) which has 4 wires: red, black, blue, and yellow. Since my expertise with electricity and wiring is non-existent can someone suggest what the hook up should be. I'm guessing that red is + and black is - but IF that's the case, do I just cut off the other two? Leslie

thanks GH, tacho eh! so use red and black wires for power then yellow is the rpm counter. so if i was into programming i could have an alarm when the fan isnt working. Btw my fan connector has six holes - for six pins.
