I have thought about jargon we use here on the SS website and it occurred to me that newbies may not know the meanings of the words and phrases we use whether it is a technical term or phrase such as static pressure or slang, such as polyiso, acronym such as CFM. The point is this is the language that we speak.
I think it would be VERY helpful to have a forum dedicated to this valuable information. Newbies could use this information to understand what the heck we are talking about. I've explained to people how solar air heat works and had to stop due to the dumbfounded looks on their faces as I was using lingo that they have never heard before. Yes, you can use your computer to define or google a word, or pick up the meaning from the context of the conversation, but since the SS website is a discussion group, it would help to have the resource in a forum. Acronyms & abbreviations drives me nuts at my job. There several new ones nearly everyday. Of course I would hope any newbie would ask. We're always willing to answer questions. Are you wanting just a category added? Jeff Central IL Solar Air & water

Here's a first contribution, LOL...
JARGON (which means many things to different folks, but here's the definition *we* are interested in): "the technical terminology employed in a particular activity or area of knowledge" The origin is French, meaning "to twitter or warble - as in the noise made by birds in a morning" - presumably because once they are at it, the only ones that can understand it are... themselves G_H __________________
(1) "Heat goes from hot to cold, there is no directional bias" (2) It's wrote, "voilà" unless talking musical instruments...
