Hi
First post here! I am hoping someone can help me out here. I have my collector up , It is a drain back system.  I have the tubing coils in the in the storage tank and i want to connect the ends of these to the hot water tank. Would these hook into the cold before the hot water heater? I am stuck on this last part here. I can not find any info on where to hook these 2 ends at.. If i connect it to the cold side the water heater will i still get cold water? thanks for any help!

One option is to hook it into the cold water line input to your water heater. There's a simple diagram under Domestic Water Preheat at the following link:

At some point the line coming in from the well has a branch that splits off and feeds into your hot water tank, right? Otherwise all your water would go through the hot water heater and you wouldn't have cold water now.

You would hook the output from your heat exchanger (the coils in your solar storage tank) into the cold water line branch that is the input to your water heater.

It is that back one on the wall. It then connects to that T on the cold side

If that's the water heater inlet on the right, then you would have to work between the tee and the heater which is a really tight space.

So i need to cut that T out , Install another T and that is where the solar line goes to and the other end at the well correct?
