Hello everyone, I recently, developed this interest in solar energy system and I need your help. I have a 12V, 200AH battery and an 800 VA inverter. I like to introduce solar panel into the system. what are the solar components needed?
Thanks and best regards.

Simple answer: You will need a solar panel and a charge controller.
How BIG a solar panel you need will depend on how much you expect to pull from the battery. The idea is that you need to put back in what you take out, so FIRST you have to determine your load. The 800VA inverter by itself doesn't draw much, but what are you planning to plug into it, and for how long? If you want to plug in a 100w light for 5 hours then you're drawing 500watt-hours. That's what you have to put back. A 100w panel (in theory) will do that for you in 5 hours of good sun (100w x 5 hrs = 500wh). In real life it's probably not enough for that load. You may want 120 watts (or more) of panel. Charge controller size is determined by the size of the panel. The panel will have a bunch of ratings, one of which is Isc or max current so that's what your charge controller needs to handle. For a panel with an Isc of 10 amps you need a 10 amp controller (minimum). If in doubt go bigger with everything, the charge controller will keep from overcharging the battery. But first you have to determine the load! __________________ Willie, Tampa Bay

As you want to learn about what are the components of solar PV system, I think this article will help you to understand the concept. How Solar Power System Works & it's components.
