I need to run about 400' of wire to power an outbuilding.

I was looking at some aluminum direct burial and come across something I was wondering about.

This product:

https://www.wireandcableyourway.com/2-2-4-stephens-underground-distribution-cable.html

is 2-2-4, where 4 is the neutral.

Is that something they do? Wouldn't it be better with 2-2-2?

Just thought that was strange.

Maybe that's more for 220v usage?

The fourth wire is for sub-panels, which must have a separate grounding buss isolated from the neutral.
