This design is intended to go behind the glass windbreak on my terrace. For the moment it has become sort-of superseded by other works (crawlspace and facade collector). The idea is to use the big floor area (4 x 1 meters) to collect a LOT of hot air and borow some of that heat for warming water.G_H

Hi, Darry, Thanks for the input ! At the moment, this design is not going anywhere, as it got kind-of superseded by my roof-pumping project, which is looking *far* more cost-effective. (if you are interested, latest details are here: http://simplysolar.supporttopics.com/post/Garage_Hermits-Projects-6221962?&trail=30 Guess it is winter down under ? G_H

Yep pretty cold for us or at least by our standards: "freezing" around here means it's less than 10 C but we very rarely get much below 0 C I'm building the next air collector and want to incorporate some water heating into it - even if it's just to preheat the water a little going into our hot water tank. But wondering whether to do it on this next one or just keep it simple for now!
