A conceptual video, perhaps with limited applications. Like shingles there would be a lot of electrical connections

Yes but if they plug together it would only take a few seconds; shouldn't be a problem.

True Willie but also many more connections to have potential problems over their lifespan.

Always a possibility, but good quality weatherproof connectors should minimize that. Probably similar to what's on solar panels.

Whether they're cost-effective is another issue.
