Great price Guy!

IR cameras have been coming down in price for the last several years. I'm planning to buy one as some point.

Seeing your photos shows how much colder the intake is in the lower right corner on the right-most collector. Looks like the other collector doesn't have that problem. Is the intake in the bottom center?

  Hi Greg

Both collectors have there inputs and outputs in the center. I should have used this photo.

It was taken the same time as the thermal image if you zoom in on the right corner of the old collector (right) you can see branches shading the collector.

Guy were you able to confirm the temp reading on the phone was the same on an exiting thermometer?

I've been looking at thermal image cameras, but they are pretty pricey. Since I don't have a 'smart phone' that device, app wouldn't work for me, but price is ok.

Just went and looked and found this, it has both versions but they say 249.00  I need to find out exactly what they mean when they say micro usb connector also.

Dan-

Having two different connectors allows FLIR to integrate the FLIR ONE with both older and newer iPhones. Newer models, starting with the iPhone 5, began using the lighting connector. So you order the Apple version of the FLIR ONE which has the connector that fits your iPhone.

Greg

PS:You could also buy a lighting-to-micro USB adapter cable. This would allow you to have the iPhone separate from the FLIR ONE instead of attached directly to the phones charging port. This could be handy if your are trying to maneuver the FLIR camera into tight places or around corners.

Hi Greg,
Not an Apple person, currently have a Droid Turbo.  It never really talks about the connector to the Android,  If you go down the bottom of manual PDF there is a link that takes you to a comic book type flyer.  On that page http://www.flir.com/flirone/  click the support tab http://www.flir.com/flirone/display/?id=62916   and it talks about the phones they tested and issues with some items.  My droid turbo is not listed but the power supply for my phone will also charge my wife's galaxy 5s which is listed.  The Galaxy has a dual connector plug so it still is not clear if I can plug into this device but I probably can.

Then the order site talks about a 1-2 months waiting time for it to ship but says nothing like that for the Apple.  Hopefully in 6 more months it will be readily available and cheaper to!

  Hi Jeff

The output temps for for the collectors when the thermal image was taken (12-5-15 10:54) the new collector (left) was 99f @ 179cfm and the old collector (right) was 119f @ 55cfm. The thermal image is showing the temperature of the glazing 76f for the hottest spot and 51f for the coldest.
