Hello, just today there was a buzzing noise and some bad smell from my mppt inverter (EASUN POWER 3000W Solar Inverter) Its just a bit over 6 months old and did not get heavy use. Here is the link to this type: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ISolar-SP-3KVA-24V-off-Grid-Solar-Inverter-with-50A-PWM-Solar-Controller/32526638737.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.1.54d63d08SfSSEp&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_1_10152_10151_10065_10344_10068_10342_10343_10340_10341_10084_10083_10618_10630_10307_5711211_10313_10059_5722311_10534_100031_10103_10627_10626_10624_10623_10622_10621_10620_5711311_10142,searchweb201603_2,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=2fad6295-2da6-4374-98fe-2f1d35ed5045-0&algo_pvid=2fad6295-2da6-4374-98fe-2f1d35ed5045&transAbTest=ae803_5&priceBeautifyAB=0

So i disconnected it and opened it up but i could not see any damage, the inverter is still working but i realized some smell and buzzing noise coming from the ring transformer that is in the output stage of 220v with 2 big capacitors when more load connected. My pc or light works just fine but when i turn on the fridge it starts smelling a bit.
I guess maybe the ring transformer has melted insulation or has gone bad because of bad quality or whatever, i never run the system at maximum, its rated for 3000 watts but it does not get more load than maybe 500 watt.
My idea is to replace the ring transformer but i could not find any information what type to use. Has anyone experienced similar problems with this chinese equipment thats gone bad, burned transformers etc...? Any idea or solution?

The smell went away the mppt is working normal now, i think maybe there was an insect or something organic that has gotten into it but i will watch it.

Maybe it just hasn't been "cooked in" yet...

Solar is like the wind. It may be free, but putting it to work isn't!

Actually there were some animals inside, the inverter now is burned completely and beyond repair. They were on the backside under the pcb and there was no insulating plastic so they shorted out everything. Nice. just lost 850 dollar in a half year for nothing. If someone buys a similar product, you should open it, take out the board and put insulating plastic under it and fill all the gaps so no insects and animals can get inside. The circuit is also complex there are several micro controllers and feedback circuits which made it very difficult to repair.
