Might need 4 or 5 to get enough air out of the system but it seems reasonable.  But if they are on top you might need to leave an open vent on the bottom to have decent flow.

I was thinking the same thing only put one at the top on the SIDE so that with a
simple lever the action of the thermostat opening opens a lower vent on the side.

Actually, would need to be mounted inside the unit (so, maybe, will open when air is right temp), and make linkages/etc to open vents. Might have it as an actual vent (cold outside might screw it up, but MIGHT work. One on top, one on bottom, or just one with linkages. I know the spring will be strong enough. Not 'adjustable', but they are manufactured in a few different temps.

Little buggers...You spend the first couple of years teaching them to walk and talk, then the next 20 telling them to shut up and sit down...

My plan is to put 2 holes in the bottom of the panel, bottom is easier to keep the rain out. Install a small instrument fan in one of the holes, this will circulate the air if the pump is not running. We only loose AC power because of ice or thunderstorms, I will have to take the chance.

Rick-

Stagnation isn't a big issue in the middle of winter if it's frigid outside. But in the spring and fall, when storms are more frequent, it can be a problem. Powering primary fans or secondary backup fans would ensure the safety of a collector. Post some photos if you do add the small fans.
